We are so excited to be able to host the 2022 MDCLCA Conference in-person at UMBC. For the safety and comfort of our membership, MDCLCA has implemented the following vaccination, testing, and masking policies for the conference.
UMBC is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, students, and visitors. If you would like to request accommodations (e.g., ASL interpreters, captioning, wheelchair access, etc.) for this event due to a disability, please notify us at least two weeks prior to the event. Requests received after that time cannot be guaranteed, but we will do our best to make arrangements for program access. Please contact info@mdclca.org with your specific request.
Upon registration, all conference participants will be asked to affirm they have read and agree to follow the COVID-19 safety policies listed below.
If you are registering and paying for multiple conference participants, you are responsible for ensuring they have access to and review the COVID-19 policies for the conference.
Policy language and organization was edited on 2/10/2022 for clarity. No changes were made to the policy.
COVID-19 Proof of Full Vaccination or Negative COVID-19 Test.
All conference participants must show ID and proof of full vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test to be admitted to the conference. Negative COVID-19 test documentation must be dated within 72 hours of the conference.
Negative test documentation for unvaccinated participants may include:
-
Rapid at-home self tests if the testing procedure includes a telehealth service affiliated with the manufacturer of the test that provides real-time supervision remotely through an audio and video connection.
-
Rapid-antigen tests administered by a testing provider.
-
Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) administered by a testing provider.
Registrants who do not present proof of full vaccination status or negative COVID-19 test results at conference check-in will not be admitted and will not be eligible for a refund. See our refund policy below.
COVID-19 Positive Test
In accordance with the CDC Guidelines, if you test positive for COVID-19, stay home for at least 5 full days after your positive test. If you were severely ill, you should isolate for at least 10 days.
Registrants who test positive for COVID-19 and are unable to attend will be eligible for a partial refund and will retain membership. Membership in MDCLCA includes access to past conference materials and Coffee & Conversation virtual professional development opportunities throughout the year. See refund policy below.
COVID-19 Masking Policy
All conference participants are required to wear medical grade masks such as KF94s, KN95s, or fitted surgical masks.
Please note that cloth masks alone will no longer meet the face covering requirement. However, you may combine a cloth mask (top layer) and a surgical mask (bottom layer) to improve fit and increase protection.
Masks may only be removed when actively eating or drinking.
COVID-19 Recommendations
We encourage all eligible members to get the COVID-19 vaccine booster as it is the best protection against COVID-19.
In the spirit of good stewardship, if you have access to an at-home rapid test, we encourage you to take the test prior to attending the conference. You can register for 4 free at-home rapid antigen tests from the Official White House website or USPS.
COVID-19 Refund Policy
